Scanned pages are checked automatically. If OCR cannot read a page reliably, the job stops instead of returning a partly translated document.

Translate the words without rebuilding the whole document

A PDF often carries more than a paragraph of text. It may contain a letterhead, charts, product images, numbered sections, footnotes, stamps, page backgrounds, and carefully placed labels. Copying everything into a normal translator breaks that structure before the translation has even begun. This tool takes a document-first approach. It reads the text areas already present on each page, translates the useful wording, and places the result back into the same working spaces while leaving the page size and non-text artwork in place.

That makes it practical for reports, brochures, instructions, classroom material, forms, research papers, travel documents, internal handbooks, and other PDFs where the page still needs to look familiar after the language changes. A translated sentence can be longer than the original, so text may be reduced to fit a tight box. The result is designed to stay close to the source layout, but any important legal, medical, financial, immigration, or safety document should still be read by a qualified person before it is used.

Searchable pages and scanned pages are handled differently

When a PDF already contains real searchable text, the tool works with those text regions and keeps the underlying images and vector graphics. If a page is only a scan or photograph, automatic optical character recognition is used to locate readable words first. The page is checked at a fixed server-side quality setting; there is no DPI control to guess at. OCR language data must be available for the detected or selected source language. If a scanned page cannot pass the reading check, processing stops and asks you to try a clearer file or correct language instead of quietly skipping the page.

Clear, straight scans with strong contrast produce the most dependable OCR. Blurred phone photographs, handwriting, decorative lettering, equations, overlapping stamps, and text printed across detailed pictures remain difficult for any automatic system. Selecting the source language manually can help when a short scan is hard to identify. Password-protected files can also be translated when the correct password is entered before the request begins.

A fair one-at-a-time translation queue

Large document translation uses substantial computing resources, so this page processes one PDF at a time. If another document is already being translated, your upload receives a real numbered place in the queue. The number changes as earlier requests finish or leave. You do not need to press the button again: your PDF starts automatically when it reaches the front. Keep this page open while waiting or translating. Closing or navigating away cancels the queued or active request and removes its working files, allowing the next person to continue. Minimizing the browser or changing tabs does not cancel it.

Once your translation is complete, your place is released immediately so the next PDF can begin. Your download remains available separately, so another person entering the queue does not take away your finished file. Uploads and generated files are temporary and are automatically removed no later than 24 hours after the request was created. Download the result promptly and keep your own copy if you need it later.

PDF translation languages available on this page

You can translate a PDF from or into any of these 100 supported languages: Afrikaans, Amharic, Arabic, Asturian, Azerbaijani, Bashkir, Belarusian, Bulgarian, Bengali, Breton, Bosnian, Catalan / Valencian, Cebuano, Czech, Welsh, Danish, German, Greek, English, Spanish, Estonian, Persian, Fulah, Finnish, French, Western Frisian, Irish, Scottish Gaelic, Galician, Gujarati, Hausa, Hebrew, Hindi, Croatian, Haitian Creole, Hungarian, Armenian, Indonesian, Igbo, Iloko, Icelandic, Italian, Japanese, Javanese, Georgian, Kazakh, Khmer, Kannada, Korean, Luxembourgish, Ganda, Lingala, Lao, Lithuanian, Latvian, Malagasy, Macedonian, Malayalam, Mongolian, Marathi, Malay, Burmese, Nepali, Dutch / Flemish, Norwegian, Northern Sotho, Occitan, Odia, Punjabi, Polish, Pashto, Portuguese, Romanian / Moldovan, Russian, Sindhi, Sinhala, Slovak, Slovenian, Somali, Albanian, Serbian, Swati, Sundanese, Swedish, Swahili, Tamil, Thai, Tagalog / Filipino, Tswana, Turkish, Ukrainian, Urdu, Uzbek, Vietnamese, Wolof, Xhosa, Yiddish, Yoruba, Chinese, Zulu.

For the cleanest result, choose a target language that is different from the source, check names and numbers after downloading, and compare a few pages against the original. The page-by-page progress display shows exactly where the current translation has reached. This makes long files easier to follow without exposing private server details or information about other visitors.

If a scanned document only needs searchable text, use OCR My PDF. For corrections, signatures, annotations, or page changes after translation, continue in the PDF Editor.
