Sheet Generator
Create a timestamped thumbnail overview from a local video, then download one neatly arranged image.
Frames are sampled at evenly spaced points inside the selected time range. Keep this tab open until generation finishes.
MP4, WebM and some MOV files work when your browser supports their codecs. If a file cannot be decoded, choose a compatible copy; the original is not modified.

Make a thumbnail contact sheet from a video
Summarise a recording in one image containing a grid of representative frames. A contact sheet can help you identify footage, review a long clip, document an edit or share a quick visual overview. Choose a video, select a time range and generate evenly spaced thumbnails with optional timestamps and file details.
Choose the part worth reviewing
The start and end controls define the sampled interval. Trim away an empty lead-in or closing section if those moments are not useful. Frames are taken from the centres of evenly spaced segments, which avoids relying entirely on a blank first or last frame. The tool samples by time rather than detecting scene changes, so a static clip may produce similar-looking thumbnails.
Set the grid and thumbnail size
Select nine, twelve, sixteen or twenty-four frames, then choose three, four or six columns. A larger thumbnail width reveals more detail but increases the finished image size. Original proportions are preserved inside each thumbnail. The generator checks the complete sheet against a browser-memory limit before rendering, rather than creating an unexpectedly enormous canvas.
Use timestamps and a useful title
Timestamp labels show where each thumbnail was sampled, making it easier to return to the matching moment in an editor or video player. Add a short title and optionally include the filename, duration and source dimensions. If the filename contains personal information, turn file details off before sharing the sheet.
Download a JPG or PNG
JPG is a practical choice for a compact overview containing photographic frames. PNG preserves pixels without another lossy compression pass and may be better for screen recordings with small text. Inspect the result at its intended viewing size before publishing. A contact sheet is a still image; it does not contain the video or its audio.
Which video formats work?
The browser must be able to play and seek through the source. MP4, WebM and some MOV files work depending on the codec and device. An unsupported codec can fail even when its file extension looks familiar. Convert such a video in a compatible editor first, then return with the readable copy. The tool accepts local files up to 1 GB.
Follow frame capture progress
Keep the page open while the progress indicator advances. If you need to adjust captions for the same project, use the subtitle editor and timing fixer.
